Board of Directors

Victim Services of Simcoe County is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of local community leaders dedicated to building a stronger community with accessible resources to empower its residents, employees and visitors when they are at their most vulnerable. As a growing community resource, VSSC is interested in director candidates who align with its mission, vision and values, have a strong interest in community service, and are committed to governance excellence. Directors are responsible for overseeing VSSC’s financial and other operational accountabilities; protecting the ongoing sustainability, credibility, and ability of the organization to realize its mandate, mission, vision and values; and ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, funder and affiliation requirements. To accomplish this, we are interested in recruiting director candidates across a variety of skills and competencies, and encourage applications from qualified individuals who represent Simcoe County’s diverse population, geography and perspectives. Board and committee meetings are held in the evening. Directors are also expected to attend annual general meetings and educational sessions, which are scheduled with as much notice as possible. To apply for a VSSC Board of Directors vacancy, email a cover letter and résumé to Executive Director Marie McCallum.
